How to clean cutlery
07.02.2023Do you want your cutlery to look as new even after years of use? We know how to do it!

If you've invested a significant amount of money into your cutlery, you expect it to shine beautifully for years. With improper care, dull spots, deposits, and in the worst case, even rust spots can appear on every piece of cutlery over time. We will reveal how to clean it using ingredients you commonly have at home.
You can prevent deposits from coffee, tea, limescale, or chemical damage through proper care. Don't worry, it's not complicated. The key is to wash the cutlery after each use, as any prolonged contact with salt, vinegar, eggs, tomato sauce, acidic fruits, chemical cleaners, and some mineral salts can cause surface damage and discoloration. This mainly applies to the shiny surface finish. Cutlery with a matte or stone wash finish is less demanding in terms of care. Although it might seem that cutlery made of stainless steel cannot rust, it's not entirely true. Stainless steel is indeed more resistant to rust than other materials, but it's not completely rust-proof.

• Put the cutlery in a pot, pour water with a tablespoon of baking soda and a
few strips of aluminium foil.
• Boil gently and after cooling, rinse and dry thoroughly with a cotton
cloth.
*If you don't have baking soda, you can replace it with baking powder or a
tablespoon of salt, and you can skip boiling.

Mixing
a polishing paste at home can be a great alternative to soaking the cutlery in
baths.
• To make the paste, crush chalk into a fine powder and slowly mix in alcohol
while stirring constantly until a paste is formed.
